On Monday, January 20, 2025, at 8:00 PM, in the Small Hall of Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, Cantus Ensemble presents its third concert of the season, titled “Solo – Tutti!”. This program offers an exciting mix of world premieres and contemporary repertoire highlights, performed by outstanding soloists and ensemble members under the batons of conductors Mia Đogić and Ivan Josip Skender.
The program includes works by Sara Jakopović (Three Clickbaits for amplified solo viola and chamber orchestra – world premiere), André Jolivet (Concerto for Trumpet and Ensemble), Toshio Hosokawa (Spell Song for solo oboe), Luciano Berio (Opus Number ZOO for wind quintet), and Nicole Sani (L’Indifferenza for narrator and 12 strings, set to a text by Luigi Pestalozza). Alongside virtuosity and emotional depth, the program also brings elements of humor and political engagement. Jakopović’s premiere, Three Clickbaits, explores contemporary themes through music.
The featured soloists will be Tvrtko Pavlin (viola), Vedran Kocelj (trumpet), Iva Ledenko (oboe), and the ensemble’s artistic director Berislav Šipuš (narrator). Their solo performances will add a unique energy to the concert, showcasing both technical mastery and artistic sensitivity while guiding the audience through a rich palette of emotions and the language of contemporary music.
Don’t miss your chance for a dose of musical modernity!
The special visual identity for the entire concert season—including this concert—was created by artist Iva Zagoda, whose creative expression further enhances the ensemble’s contemporary spirit.
We invite you to join Cantus Ensemble in the Small Hall of Lisinski and experience a top-tier performance of music that blends tradition and innovation, emotion and intellect, entertainment and art.
