Even after the end of its concert season in Zagreb, Cantus Ensemble continues with performances: As part of the collaboration with the Slovenian brass quintet Slowind, on May 16 they will be guests in Ljubljana, at the festival Slowindova pomlad (Slowind's Spring). At the Zagreb concert held on May 9, the Cantus Ensemble performed, among other things, the piece "Lamentation (is when grief pours out)" by the composer Ivana Kiš. The mentioned composition was published on Cantus' release "40", which the audience at the concert could also find under their seats in Blagoje Bersa Concert Hall as a gift from the ensemble. You can listen to the release on all digital services.
Let us remind you that Cantus performed at Slowind's Spring last December, and the Slovenian ensemble returned the visit on May 9. At the second concert, there was also a joint performance of "Grajska" (Chateauesque) by the Slovenian composer Larisa Vrhunc: the Croatian and Slovenian ensemble performed it together, with a guest appearance by soprano Irma Dragičević, and the same ensemble will perform the piece on May 16 in Ljubljana. In addition to the mentioned composition, Cantus Ensemble brings the works of some of the most important Croatian composers: Milo Cipra, Marko Ruždjak, Frano Parać, Berislav Šipuš and Srđan Dedić as a "return visit". Among them are three wind quintets (the Slowind ensemble premiered Srdjan Dedić's quintet at the 2015 Music Biennale), Šipuš's piano trio "Gonars" and Frano Parać's clarinet quartet.
