The Second Season of the Cantus Ensemble Concert Cycle has started

«And although the selected program had it's raises and falls, at least the high professional playing of the Cantus Ensemble under the guidance of Maestro Berislav Šipuš, was the functional constant. Croatian, but also the foreign composers may sleep peacefully. Whatever quality their compositions are, they can always count that this ensemble will assure the performance that will be at the same or probably at the higher level of their peaces.»
                                     Trpimir Matasović (Zarez, 20.9.2007.)

On Monday, the 18th September 2007, in the Small Hall Vatroslav Lisinski, with the concert entitled Homemade Music the second season of the concert cycle Cantus & Lisinski has started. Cantus Ensemble and Maestro Berislav Šipuš, artistic leader and conductor, have selected and prepared the compositions of the Croatian composers, Milko Kelemen's Nonett, Dubravko Detoni's dolce furioso and Ivo Josipović's Musicam psalite. But the basic characteristic during the ensemble's six years period of activity is constant pursuit for still not performed opuses of the 20th century. So in that manner the first performance had on this concert Josip Magdić's Chaconne HDS for 11 instrumentalists and Concerto for violoncello and chamber ensemble Quasi una... of the Croatian-German composer Miro Dobrowolny. The violoncello soloist was Jasen Chelfi, the current member of the Cantus Ensemble.
