Canadian tour

In June 2008 the Cantus Ensemble will go on a tour of Canada, where they are scheduled to appear in Toronto. The ensemble will give four concerts in order to intensify the collaboration between the Canadian and Croatian music institutions as well as to present Croatian music beyond the European borders. The Cantus Ensemble will therefore play work by Canadian composers Michael Pepa and the most recent compositions by Croatian authors of various generations. The Ensemble will appear at the soundaXis Festival which was founded in 2006 as part of the New Music Arts projects. The festival's aim is to connect music, architecture and acoustics, so the complete programme, concerts, installations, symposia, etc. have been situated in the places of urban architecture and sound of Toronto. This year's festival is dedicated to composer Edgard Varèse.
The Ensemble musicians will also appear as guests of the ensemble Les Amis (Toronto) and their artistic director, Michael Pepa, at performances organized as part of the renowned and longtime (since 1980) concert series Les AMIS Concerts.
