Srebrenka Poljak, piano
Srebrenka Poljak received her bacherol's degree in 1993 and in 1995 she was the youngest ever to receive a master's degree from the Zagreb Academy of Music, where she studied with Zvjezdana Bašić. On the various festivals and master courses (Jerusalem Music Encounters, Firenze Masterclass Internazionale, Orlando Festival, Wien-Prag-Budapest Sommerakademie, etc.) she encountered many great artists and ensembles, such as Isaac Stern, Mstislav Rostropovič, Leon Fleisher, Marian Lapšansky, Borodin quartet, Emerson string quartet, Julliard String quartet and others, who shaped her musical identity. As a soloist she performed with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Croatian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra, Croatian Army Symphonic Wind Orchestra and Croatian Chamber Orchestra. She gave many solo performances, as a part of the concert cycles Piano Fortissimo (Zagreb), Wolfov Koncertni Abonma (Slovenj Gradec), Pianissimo (Rogaška Slatina), Festival Lent (Maribor) also on the Music September in Maribor, International Music Festival in Pula and Zagreb Summer Evenings. As a chamber musician, she has been perfoming successfuly with many croatian and foreign artists (S. Milenković, M. Bekavac, V. Dešpalj, M- Leskovar, S. Olenjuk, S. Arnold, I. Parkany and others). As a member of the renown Zagreb Piano Trio she toured Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy and Israel and has won prize aknowledgements in Croatia and abroad (1st prize on the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competion in Norway, 2nd prize and the award for the best piano trio in Heerlen, the Netherlands, Darko Lukić award, Ivo Vuljević award, etc.). She is a member of the Cantus ensemble with whom she performs and records the works of contemporary composers, out of which many are first performances. She regulary collaborates with the String Department of the Zagreb Academy of Music and the Zagreb Philharmonic.
