Dani Bošnjak, flute

At the age of only seven years old, Dani Bošnjak discovered his means of expression. After having started to play flute in 1972, 22 years later, he finished his official studying on the Zagreb Academy of Music with receiving master's degree. Of course, that didn't mean his further professional improvement was over. His path led him towards exploring the old instruments and instruments related to flute, hence Bošnjak is now an instrumentalist on so called flauta traverso and piccolo. His interest in ancient music resulted in engagement in Croatian Baroque Ensemble, specialized for historically informed performances. Bošnjak is a permanent collaborator of a few distinguished ensembles, like Varaždin Chamber Orchestra and Croatian Chamber Orchestra, Zagreb Opera, and he highlights the membership in Zagreb wind ensemble, with whom he presents the center of Cantus Ensemble, an institution for promoting croatian contemporary music. Dani Bošnjak's versatility which reflects in turning to ancient, but also contemporary music, took him also to the areas of jazz and latino music.
