Cantus Ensemble had the pleasure to perform last on this year’s Osor Musical Evenings and in its special way to close the festival that was this year at last recognized to be of the national value and importance, and in that way its permanent mission of caring for the Croatian musical heritage and production is finally formally acknowledged.

The grand closing of the Osor Music Evenings by Cantus Ensemble
Osor Musical Evenings had its festive opening for the 36th time on 20th July 2011, with the concert of the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and Choir and conductor Tonči Bilić, performing W. A. Mozart’s Great Mass in c minor, KV 427 (417a) and Passacalia for strings, by this year festivals’ composer in focus, Anđelko Klobučar.

International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) was founded in Salzburg in 1922 as the extension of a festival founded one year earlier - Donaueschingen Chamber Music Festival. But already in 1923, Society has established its own festival, today better known as the World New Music Days (WNMD).
